The 5th of this seasons Inter-Club races took place at Lea Town, hosted by Wesham RR. With 77 Preston Harriers lining up against athletes from Blackpool, Chorley, Lytham, Red Rose, Thornton Cleveleys and Wesham to compete in this 4.5 mile race.
On a humid evening it was clear from the start that Preston had turned out in force with the aim of maintaining their first-place positions in both the Mens and Ladies categories and they did not disappoint.
First home for Preston was Rob Danson finishing 2nd overall with other Preston Men packing well to take the top Mens team spot. Sam Evans 3rd, Chris Livesey 5th, Patrick Brown 6th, Luke Suffolk 9th, Wes Wilkinson 11th, Martin Phillips 15th, Josh Parratt 17th, Andy Cottam 19th and Jack Greenway 21st.
In the Ladies category, Preston Harriers also took the spoils with Emma Navesey finishing 1st Lady overall, followed by Sophie Pilkington 2nd, India Thomas 5th, Charlotte Gregory 6th and Emma Watson 7th.
In addition, Preston also took top spot in the Vets, Vet 50+ and Vet 60+ categories thanks to Gareth Morris, Gethin Butler, Stuart Nixon, Steve Hallas, David Lea, Mark Lee and John Griffiths. Furthermore, the Ladies Vets finished 3rd with the support of Liz Horne, Kim Slater, Jane Hodkinson, Sharon Wilkinson and Vicky Bretherton.
With 2 races to go in the series Preston Men have so far won 4 from 5 races and Preston Ladies have a 100% winning record. A great squad turnout showing once again the strength and depth we currently have at Preston Harriers which led to an amazing set of results.
