Wadsworth Half Trog Fell Race

The Wadsworth Half Trog fell race, the little brother of the full Trog which is in February, is organised by Calder Valley Fell Runners. The half Trog covers 9.3 miles with 1,400 feet of climbing. The race starts from the Hare & Hounds pub at Chiserley, above Hebden Bridge and gives excellent views of the surrounding moors and valleys.

The route is invariably boggy and wet and this year was no different, although it stayed clear and dry for the race.

Nichola Jackson, enjoying very good form, was 1st lady, and finished 5th overall in 1:18.44, taking a huge twenty one minutes off the previous ladies record. Steve Bamber was 24th in 1:31.43 and Roger Taylor was 37th in 1:33.09. Michael McLoughlin was 3rd vet 60 in 1:42.42. Race winner was Sam Watson (Wharfedale) in 1:14.03.
