March 2017 Winner Dougie Potter is the March winner breaking the 40 minute barrier for 10k for the first time recording a pb of 39:45 at the Cheshire 10k on March 26th.
April 2017 Winner Toney Donnelly’s busy April won him the April Run of the Month award. He started the month on April 2nd finishing 71st at the Manchester Marathon in an excellent time of 2:45:01. Three days later he was at Blackpool for the Inter Club race finishing 8th and third Harrier home in 21:35. And then on April 15th he ran the 50 mile Liverpool to Manchester Ultra finishing in 27th place in a time of 8hrs 13min. Next up was the London Marathon on April 23rd and a finish time of 3:00:36. Perhaps Toney should come with a warning to other Harriers, ‘This is not the recommended way to recover from a marathon. Please do not try this at home.’ But there is good reason for his madness. These and other races planned by Toney in 2017 are part of a Charity Running Challenge for Once Upon A Smile.
