Preston hosted the third interclub event of the seven race series on a warm evening in Avenham and Miller parks. Wesham's Rob Danson followed up his successes at Blackpool and Lytham by finishing first among the 264-strong field in 19 minutes 30 seconds. He was followed home around the 3.7-mile course by Preston Harriers' Sam Evans, second in 20:03 with teammate Ben Akin third, nine seconds further behind. Wes Wilkinson was the third Harrier to finish in the top 10, coming 8th in 21:10. Other Preston runners in the scoring 10 were Luke Suffolk (13th), Carla Davies (22nd), Chris Williams (26th), Mariusz Kovacs (27th), Steve Hallas (31st), Mark Lee (32nd) and Paul Ratan (36th). It was a home success for the Preston Harriers men as they finished as first team on 200 points, narrowly ahead of Blackpool on 203. The Harriers' Carla Davies was first lady finisher in 22:11 while Eleanor Palmer and Eleanor Hunt were also finishers for Preston in the ladies' section in 26th and 41st place respectively.
