Northern U13 & U15 Indoor Championships

Sun 3 Feb 2019, Sheffield

At the under 13/u15 championships in Sheffield last weekend Preston Harriers athletes collected one gold, three silver and two bronze medals. Top of the medal table was under 15 Daniel Shuttleworth, who won the boys’ 60m hurdles in a pb of 9.22. Daniel also competed through the rounds of the 60m, and finished in 4th place in the final, with another pb of 7.92. Cerys Allen was next in the table, having competed in long jump, three rounds of 200m and three rounds of 60m, a total of 780m of sprinting, if you ignore the six runs in the long jump! She did extraordinarily well to win silver medals in her first two events, the long jump with a jump of 4.51, then the 200m with a time of 28.37. Finally she also gained a bronze medal in the 60m with her fastest run of the day in a time of 8.63. In the field, Preston had two medallists on the stand in the under 15 boys’ shot put, with Isaac Delaney winning silver for his put of 11.53m and George Lowe in bronze with a new pb of 10.13. George had earlier finished fifth in the high jump with another pb of 1.55.
