The first English fell championship race of the season was run under beautiful blue skies amongst the steep and rolling Shropshire hills. The category A race was a tough one, with 4,500 feet of climbing over the 11½ miles route. Nichola Jackson finished an excellent second lady, in 1:48.14, behind Victoria Wilkinson of Bingley.
John Rainford finished 141st in 2:00.31, Tony Livesey was home in 2:08.32, Roger Taylor 2:18.55 and Michael McLoughhlin 2:28.47
