The final race in the club fell race championship has been cancelled at short notice. The race organiser has sent out this message,
‘Urgent Attention: Grin and Bear It Fell Race Oct 27th – with regret I’m having to cancel this years race. I’ve been advised a few hours ago by a private landowner that a section of the race that crosses his land is heavily waterlogged and given it has SSSI in places heavy foot fall will be damaging to the area.
I’ve looked at a re route from that area but this poses alot of risk to runners as it means crossing the Woodhead Pass in 2 places.
