Everyone counts!

Thank you to Cathy for providing the report below. It details the second fixture of the Inter-Club season which was super well-attended by the blue squad. Thank you for giving up your time and putting all your energy into hammering down that sea-front.

The next fixture is set to take place on 12th June on home turf! You can read more about it here: Preston Inter Club | Preston Harriers

9th May saw the 2nd Inter Club race taking place on a sunny evening in Lytham.

Once again Preston turned out in force with 87 Harriers donning their vests to defend their excellent start in the varying team categories achieved at Blackpool.

With a sea of blue vests flooding through the finish line it was soon evident that Preston where once again a force to be reckoned with.

From a Mens team point of view, 5 Harriers achieved top 10 positions with Rob Danson 1st, Adam Sciacca 3rd, Sam Evans 4th, Luke Suffolk, 7th, Patrick Brown 8th and the remaining counters all finishing in the top 30.

This gave Preston 127 points with Blackpool 2nd on 300 points.

Meanwhile from a Ladies point of view, all 5 scorers finished in the top 6! 1st Jamie Robinson, 2nd Michelle Chadwick, 3rd Sophie Pilkington, 4th Chloe Reid, 6th Emma Watson. Securing 16 points with the next team, Lytham at 108.

The difference in points between Preston and the teams who came second was down to the depth of the Preston Harriers squads, everyone who ran worked hard to win points from other teams to great effect.

In other categories, the Vets 50 team of Gethin Butler, David Watson, Stuart Benson and Norman Hayhurst and the Vets 60 team of Norman Hayhurst, Mark Lee and Cathy Flitcroft also defended their lead in these categories.

And from one end of the spectrum to the other - provisional results show Luke Suffolk and Aarushi Wuppalapati both winning the Junior categories.
