9 robust ladies with a cumulative total of over 450 years between them turned out for the latest cross country at Blackpool.
With Preston Ladies currently leading Division 2 but with a depleted squad, the pressure was on to try and score as best as we could.
The course at Blackpool comprised of 3 laps round a large field (totalling 6km) and whilst there were no hills it was still a hard slog on soft ground.
First home for Preston was Kate Lakeland, followed by Catherine Mitchell and Cathy Flitcroft to make up Preston A team, finishing 4th in Division 2 and doing enough to retain Preston's top spot by 1 point.
Not far behind was Kim Slater, followed by Becky Maughan and Julie Tyrer forming Preston B team, bringing the team to 4th in Division 3.
F45 team - Catherine, Cathy, Kim finished 1st team on the day
F55 team - Cathy, Marian Hesketh and Sue Wickham brought the team home in 4th
Whilst we didn't have a team in the oldest age category, Judith Deakin finished 1st in the F75 category.
A great effort by everyone on the day and a fantastic team spirit.
