Capatains' run report - Cathy and Dougie reporting back from the coast

Whilst Tuesday 26th June saw another lacklustre performance from the England Football Team this was not the case at the latest Inter Club race at Thornton-Cleveleys with another dominating performance by Preston Harriers.

Thankful that the expected sunshine had taken rest bite behind the clouds, a rather blustery headwind for the final half made it tough going for the 56 harriers who lined up for this fourth race in the seven race series.

First across the line for the Senior Men was Rob Danson (on his birthday), another year older but not slowing down with a time of 25:58 on this 5 mile course. The men packing well to score 135 points and taking first team with their nearest competition being Wesham with 220.

In the Senior Ladies race a depleted squad was always going to be a challenge but Chloe Reid stepped up and gained her first Ladies Individual victory with a time of 33:12 contributing to the Ladies team victory who finished first with 29 points ahead of Lytham on 40.

Once again Preston also dominated the Vets and Vet 60's categories, pipping Blackpool in both age groups and in the younger 'Junior' category both Aarushi and Luke once again took the honours.

Another fantastic evening with many amazing performances and failing any celebration of England's win, there is plenty to celebrate within the Harriers right now.
