The Masters Road Relays take place once again in May at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. In previous years Preston Harriers has had success in this competition which is open to teams from all over Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales.
The relays provide competition for men’s and women’s teams at a range of Veteran categories:
Men – V35-45 (6 runners), V45-55 (4 runners), V55-65 (3) V55-65 (3) and V75 (3) Women – V35-45 (4 runners), V45-55 (3), V55-65 (3) and V65 (3)
Discussions have been ongoing for some time in regard to the men’s V45-55 team, where it is hoped we can enter a very competitive squad. The competition for places in the V45 squad is expected to be very strong and therefore the intension is to enter two teams, with the likelihood that a time of around sub 17 minutes for 5k will be needed to gain selection for the A team.
David Watson will be organising the V45 squad and entering teams on the on-line entry system over the next few weeks. If there are any other teams that wish to be entered in the various men’s or women’s categories please let him know, providing the name of team organiser and a list of names of those who have indicated they wish to run.
