Sun 15 March, Bolton
There was a great turnout from Preston Harriers in what could be their final meeting for a while at the Bolton 5k. With social lives and events hitting pause for the short term future, 15 Harriers made the journey across to run the new, flat course at Bolton 5k. The new course was greeted with a mix of glee and trepidation from the Harriers, with some not realising the course had changed until after entering, having only entered for the hill, and others not missing that at all! Conditions were perfect for racing with overcast skies, no wind and mild temperatures. These were certainly enjoyed by first Harrier home Máriusz Kovács who finished 12th with a PB of 17.56. Darren Kinder was next Harrier home with a time of 19:10, followed by Maciej Jarno (21:05). For the ladies, Jade Eastham (Bebbington) led the way to finish 12th with a time of 22:09 followed by Dolly Parkes (24:53) and Susan Ashcroft (25:06). Susan came first vet female 55 and Maureen Kirkby came first vet female 65 with a time of 28:20. Other Harriers to make the journey across were Ashraf Kazee (21:24), Ian Bebbington (22:51), Sean Sweeney (22:51), David Kerfoot (23:12), Jenny Macdonald (25:13), Nik Eastham (25:44), Stephen Parkes (26:27), Shelley Audis-Riddell (26:55) and Alex Proffitt (30:58).
