Wed. 11th June 2025, Moor Park, Preston
The 3rd race in the Inter Club Road Race Series took place on a hot and humid evening at Moor Park. With 62 Harriers lined up and many, many more working hard behind the scenes with great effect, the evening turned out to be a very memorable one showing again the depth in the squad of Senior athletes at Preston Harriers.
Both the Mens and Ladies teams dominated on the night with a sea of blue vests evident from the start. In the Mens race 6 Harriers finished in the top 10, led by Rob Danson who was first overall with Sam Evans 2nd, Luke Suffolk 5th, Patrick Brown 6th, Wes Wilkinson in 9th and Martin Phillips in 10th. Making up the team were Matt Farrier 13th, Tom Fryers 18th, Jack Greenway in 20th and Gareth Morris in 29th.
In the Ladies, a similar story with all 5 Ladies in the team finishing in the top 10. Mel Metcalf leading the Preston Ladies in 3rd, Katie Littlefair 4th, Amelia Websdale 5th, India Thomas 6th and Charlotte Gregory 7th.
The athletes above and the other 47 who made it round in the extreme heat did a fantastic job to ensure that the Harriers secured the points needed to remain top of the leader board.
Not to mention a huge shout out to Ian Bebbington, race organiser, and all the volunteers who made the evening possible and all the generous donations received for the post race buffet. Thank you, one and all.
