Red Rose Cross Country League

For the 2017/18 season Preston Harriers will also be affiliated to the Red Rose Cross Country League. It is a 4 race series with the best 3 to count. All the races are before Christmas and could be used by runners as a build up to the championship races in the new year.

The club will pay the league affiliation fee. The Red Rose League does charge a fee of £5 per runner for the series (not per race) which will be paid by the individual, not the club. If you wish to run in this league, please contact the team manager before the first race of the season. After that, runners can enter online themselves for a fee of £10 for the remaining races.

Runners must be fully paid up members of Preston H. for the current year and be affiliated to England Athletics. A race number is issued for the season and must be kept and worn at all races.

The Mid Lancs League will remain our priority league as a club. The Red Rose League has slightly smaller fields, but does give us the opportunity to run on some different courses (Bolton recommended). Also, they are all reasonably local. There will be no club tent at the races.
