After the cancellation of the 2015 event due to flooding on the course, race organisers and runners alike were hoping for a fine day for this year’s race, and they were rewarded with a cool and misty morning with little wind – perfect racing conditions. First Preston Harrier to finish was Chris Durney in a new PB of 31.59. He was the first junior man, and he was followed in by Tiarnan Crorken in 33.07 and Nathan Dunn in 33.25. These three combined to form the winning junior male team.
Other Harriers to claim a share of the generous prize list were Alan Appleby, who was 2nd MV65 in 43.10 and Marian Hesketh, who won the FV60 ca tegory with a time of 43.19. There were also runs from Oliver Heaton (37.12), Alan Durney (37.21), Chris Mullen (40.21), Emma Essex Crosby (45.23), Vicki Sherrington (50.53), Felicity Cross (55.41), Sue Wickham (55.45), Amanda French (setting a massive new PB of 56.12), Olga Wiggins (57.08), Judith Deakin (1st FV70 in 60.03), Helen Boyer (60.29) and Lyndsey French and Kenny Gawne, who ran together to finish in 65.03.
