This is an ‘A’ (hard) category fell race, which has previously been selected as an English Championship race. As such, even though it is a short race, it is not an easy race and is not ideal for beginners to fell running. Should there be adverse weather on the night you may be expected to carry a map, compass, whistle, hat, gloves and waterproof whole body cover, which must have taped seams and an attached hood. The route is unmarked and you should have the required navigational skills to find your way round the course whatever the weather. Please do not enter if you are not sufficiently experienced to compete in this race.
The race starts from Fell Foot and contours around Parlick to Nick’s Chair. It then continues to the summit of Fairsnape Fell and returns via the summit of Parlick to the finish.
